Air Methods, the leader in air medical transport, is seeking an exceptional helicopter pilot based in Adin, California. This role operates a B407 aircraft under VFR, serving a small rural community nestled in stunning natural beauty near the Modoc National Forest and Warner Mountains.

Day-to-day, you will ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals. You will complete pre-flight walkarounds, sign off on Daily Flight Logs, and conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.

Requirements

Must be thoroughly familiar with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines (GOM).
Possess thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures.
Ability to assess aircraft and weather conditions to determine airworthiness for medical transport.
Experience operating a B407 (VFR) aircraft is highly desirable.
Must be able to work in a 24/7/365 operational environment with on-call response capabilities.
Hold a valid Commercial Pilot Certificate with rotorcraft-helicopter rating and instrument rating.
Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate required.

Responsibilities

Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
Complete pre-flight before every flight verifying the aircraft is in an airworthy condition by sign off of Daily Flight Log.
Perform a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.
Serve as final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of passengers, cargo and equipment.
Be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft utilized at the operational area.
Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
Participate regularly in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees and community outreach.
