About this role

As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will lead air medical transport missions for LifeNet of NY, ensuring safe and timely patient care. Operating the EC130 under VFR conditions, you will serve communities across the picturesque Mohawk Valley and beyond.

Your daily duties include conducting thorough pre-flight inspections and planning detailed flights with little notice. You will hold final authority over aircraft operations and passenger safety, working closely with medical flight teams to ensure familiarity with aircraft systems.

Requirements

Valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with rotorcraft-helicopter rating.
Current FAA Instrument Rating for helicopters.
Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual (GOM).
Ability to conduct detailed flight planning under time constraints.
Familiarity with EC130 or similar single-engine turbine helicopter operations under VFR.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with medical flight teams.
Compliance with Air Methods policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
Complete pre-flight inspections and daily flight logs to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
Serve as final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
Maintain thorough familiarity with all primary and backup aircraft systems, and ensure medical crew are comfortable with medical interiors.
Complete all required flight and operational documentation.
Conduct detailed flight planning on short notice to exacting standards.
Participate in company meetings, projects, and community outreach activities.
Maintain regular attendance on a 7 days on/7 days off schedule with 12-hour shifts.
