Air Methods, the leader in the air medical industry, is seeking exceptional pilots to provide critical air medical transport resources to our communities 24/7. Based in Stillwater, Oklahoma, this role offers a unique blend of high-energy college-town spirit and wide-open adventure, with access to Oklahoma City and Tulsa just an hour away.
As a Rotor Wing Pilot, you will ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to safely transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within your assigned operational area. Your day-to-day duties include completing pre-flight inspections, operating Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, and serving as final authority for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Requirements
- Must be thoroughly familiar with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft utilized at operational area.
- Able to ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient.
- Responsible for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines (GOM).
- Must possess thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures.
- Must be able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
- Must maintain regular scheduled attendance as an essential function of the position.
Responsibilities
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.
- Completes pre-flight before every flight, verifying the aircraft is in an airworthy condition by signing off the Daily Flight Log.
- Performs a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.
- Serves as final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Ensures thorough familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft used at the operational area.
- Conducts detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
- Participates regularly in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
- Completes required documentation and performs other duties as assigned.
