About this role

Air Methods, the leader in the air medical industry, is seeking exceptional Rotor Wing Pilots to serve the Sidney, NY community aboard an EC130 VFR aircraft. This role ensures aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to safely transport medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area.

Day-to-day, you will operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, conducting detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards. You will complete pre-flight inspections, sign off the Daily Flight Log, and perform walkarounds before and after each flight, holding final authority for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Requirements

Must be able to ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy to transport medical crew and patient to receiving hospital.
Responsible for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, and General Operations Manual guidelines.
Thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures.
Must be able to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice.
Regular scheduled attendance required.
Compensation commensurate with flight and EMS experience from $82,900 per year.

Responsibilities

Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner in compliance with FAR, AIM, and GOM guidelines.
Completes pre-flight before every flight and performs a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit and upon completion of each flight.
Holds final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
Ensures thorough familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft used at the operational area.
Conducts detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
Participates regularly in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
Completes required documentation and ensures the medical flight team is comfortable with the medical interior and systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
