Set a course for adventure with Princess Cruises, the employer of choice in the cruise industry. As an Assistant Purser, you will play a vital role in supporting either the Guest Services or Administration function onboard, depending on operational needs.
In this role, you will supervise Guest Services Officers, ensuring they adhere to all Hotel Policies & Procedures, financial controls, and service standards. You will provide ongoing coaching and support to help team members effectively use hotel systems and tools, and assist in scheduling staff to optimize coverage.
You will ensure guest complaints and hotel defects are documented accurately and escalated appropriately, and support the resolution of lost luggage reports with timely updates. Promoting ownership of guest issues among team members, you will ensure follow-up and resolution are clearly communicated.

Requirements
- Fluency in Japanese (spoken and written) is required.
- Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or a related field, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems and financial controls.
- Ability to coach and develop team members effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Commitment to upholding Princess Cruises’ standards of excellence, safety, and integrity.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to changing operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Guest Services Officers, ensuring they understand and adhere to all Hotel Policies & Procedures, financial controls, and service standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to help team members effectively use hotel systems and tools.
- Assist the Guest Services Manager in scheduling staff to optimize coverage and maintain service standards.
- Ensure guest complaints and hotel defects are documented accurately and escalated appropriately.
- Support the resolution of lost luggage reports and ensure timely updates are provided to affected guests.
- Promote ownership of guest issues among team members, ensuring follow-up and resolution are clearly communicated.
- Assist in delivering service and product knowledge training to Guest Services Officers.
- Monitor compliance with financial controls and support the resolution of discrepancies in shipboard accounts.
