About this role

As the world's leading cruise line, Princess Cruises seeks a Senior Assistant Purser who is fluent in Japanese to join our Guest Services team. This dual-capacity leadership role supports either Guest Services or Crew Office operations, depending on the ship's operational needs.

In this role, you will oversee the Guest Services Desk, CrewCall Chat, and Telephone Center, ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional operations. You will also promote and integrate MedallionClass technology to enhance guest interactions and streamline service delivery.

You will lead a team of Guest Services professionals, fostering a culture of empathy, responsiveness, and excellence. Collaboration with onboard departments is key to resolving complex issues and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction while ensuring compliance with HESS policies and public health standards.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Prior experience in guest services or crew operations within the cruise or hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of MedallionClass technology or similar guest experience platforms preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse, multicultural team.
  • Strong financial management skills, including folio reconciliation and payment processing.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as HESS, public health, and onboard safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills with a guest-centric mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of Guest Services professionals, fostering a culture of empathy, responsiveness, and excellence.
  • Oversee the Guest Services Desk, CrewCall Chat, and Telephone Center, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Promote and integrate MedallionClass technology to enhance guest interactions and streamline service delivery.
  • Take ownership of resolving guest complaints and concerns with professionalism and urgency.
  • Maintain accuracy in guest folio management, onboard payments, and financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, HESS policies, public health standards, and safety regulations.
  • Support Crew Services operations, including crew administrative support, payroll, and welfare coordination as assigned.
