About this role
Breeze Airways is seeking current Certified Flight Instructors to join our Ground Instructor to First Officer Pathway Program. This role allows CFIs to provide ground-based instruction at the Breeze Training Academy while continuing to build flight hours as a CFI. Ground Instructors deliver training for new hires and recurrent ground training for pilots in the Airbus fleet.
In this role, you will conduct ground training across all categories including indoc, ground school, and recurrent training classes. You will prepare and maintain training records, coordinate with the Manager of Ground Training Systems, and ensure course content meets regulatory requirements. Instructors work an average of 10 days per month at the academy, with the remaining time available for building flight hours.
You will join a cross-functional team dedicated to bringing “The World’s Nicest Airline” to life. The environment emphasizes safety, kindness, integrity, ingenuity, and excellence, with a focus on improving the guest travel experience through technology and innovation.
Ground Instructors commit to 18 months in the role. Three months before completing that commitment, instructors in good standing receive a guaranteed interview for A220 First Officer. Upon reaching R-ATP or ATP minimums and fulfilling the 18-month commitment, successful candidates are assigned ATP CTP and A220 training class dates.
Requirements
- Must be a current Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
- Must have at least one year of aviation instructor experience
- FAA Commercial certificate with airplane multi-engine class rating
- Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate
- Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a valid passport
- Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States
- Must be at least 21 years old and satisfactorily complete required training
Responsibilities
- Provide ground instruction to new and current Breeze pilots, including indoc, ground school, and recurrent training classes
- Ensure course content meets regulatory requirements and coordinate with the Manager, Ground Training Systems for standardization of curriculum materials
- Prepare and maintain accurate, error-free training records and documentation
- Maintain classrooms and training facilities in a clean, neat condition
- Continuously review company, industry, government, and related publications to stay current on methods, procedures, policies, and regulations
- Participate in the development and presentation of special department or company training efforts
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and scheduling of classroom training
- Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
