About this role

We are seeking a S92 Captain for our Support Helicopter operation at Mount Pleasant on the Falkland Islands. Enjoy an equal time roster of 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off. The role supports UK military with movement of personnel, supplies, and Helicopter External Sling Load Operations (HESLO).

Conduct hands-on flying in a challenging environment including VFR/IFR, low level, and mountain flying with underslung loads. Monitor pilot handling, aircraft limitations, performance, fuel checks, navigation, terrain clearance, and overall safe flight conduct. Adhere to Company SOPs, Operations Manual, and UK air legislation.

Join the team at UK SAR, maintaining high standards of discipline, conduct, appearance, and professional expertise. Lead by active example to develop morale and expertise. Represent the company in remote South Atlantic operations.

Receive mountain flying, HESLO, and command training if required. Previous command desired but not essential. This position may provide a pathway to Search & Rescue flying in the future.

Requirements

  • Valid CAA/EASA ATPL(H) or CPL(H) and valid IR (Essential)
  • Valid S92A Type Rating
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements to hold a Falkland Islands work permit
  • Applications invited from Captains or SFOs
  • Previous command desired but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Maintain familiarity with relevant United Kingdom air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures
  • Maintain familiarity and adherence to provisions of the Company Operations Manual necessary to fulfil function
  • Observe, maintain, and comply with Company SOPs
  • Monitor pilot handling, aircraft limitations, performance, fuel checks, navigation, terrain clearance, and safe conduct of the flight
  • Maintain high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as company representative
  • Lead by active example in development and maintenance of high standards of professional expertise, discipline, and morale
