About this role

We are currently seeking an S92 Captain to join our Support Helicopter operation at Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands, in the South Atlantic. The operation provides helicopter support to the UK military, including movement of personnel, supplies, and Helicopter External Sling Load Operations (HESLO). This position features an equal time roster of 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off.

Perform hands-on flying in a challenging environment, including VFR/IFR, low level, and mountain flying along with underslung loads. Monitor pilot handling, aircraft limitations, performance, fuel checks, navigation, terrain clearance, and overall safe conduct of the flight. Maintain compliance with UK air legislation, company Operations Manual, and SOPs.

Join the team at UK SAR, maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a company representative. Lead by active example in developing and maintaining high standards of professional expertise, discipline, and morale. Operate from a remote base supporting military needs.

Receive mountain flying, HESLO, and command training if required. Applications invited from Captains or SFOs with ATPL and IR; previous command desired but not essential. This role may provide a pathway to Search & Rescue flying in the future.

Requirements

  • Valid CAA/EASA ATPL(H) or CPL(H) and valid IR (Essential)
  • Valid S92A Type Rating
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements to hold a Falkland Islands work permit
  • Experience as Captain or SFO
  • ATPL and IR qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain familiarity with relevant United Kingdom air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures
  • Maintain familiarity and adherence to provisions of the Company Operations Manual necessary to fulfil function
  • Observe, maintain, and comply with Company SOPs
  • Monitor pilot handling, aircraft limitations, performance, fuel checks, navigation, terrain clearance, and overall safe conduct of the flight
  • Maintain a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of the Company
  • Lead by active example in the development and maintenance of high standards of professional expertise, discipline, and morale
  • Conduct movement of personnel and supplies for UK military support
  • Perform Helicopter External Sling Load Operations (HESLO)
