As a Horizon Air flight attendant, you’ll fly regionally throughout the West, creating signature inflight experiences that can make for a fun and challenging career. As the face of Horizon Air representing Alaska Airlines, be an authentic and gracious host with in-depth knowledge of inflight service duties and safety procedures. Greet passengers, assist with seating assignments, carry-on baggage stowage, and security. Explain and demonstrate safety equipment and emergency procedures during flights.

Prepare and serve meals and beverages including alcohol, market onboard products like meals and inflight movies, and process sales using a mobile device. Calmly resolve passenger situations including medical emergencies and answer questions on flight operations and destinations. Work in a union-represented position with fellow employees to create an airline people love.

Undergo four weeks of paid training in Portland, OR. Complete an audio assessment of about 40 minutes as part of the application. Demonstrate ability to perform duties effectively under stress while maintaining a positive manner.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience
  • Uncompromising dedication to safety
  • Body size that fits specific aircraft dimensions including jump seat, harness, cabin aisle, and emergency exits
  • Ability to meet grooming, uniform, and appearance standards
  • Ability to demonstrate physical ability to perform flight attendant duties
  • Ability to relocate to flight attendant bases including Seattle WA, Portland OR, Medford OR, Boise ID, Spokane WA, Anchorage AK, Everett WA
  • Flexible to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Possess current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations
  • Verify all safety equipment on aircraft is in working order
  • Greet passengers and assist with seating assignments, carry-on baggage stowage, and security
  • Explain and demonstrate use of safety equipment and emergency procedures
  • Prepare and serve meals and beverages, including alcohol
  • Market onboard products such as meals and inflight movies and process sales using a mobile device
  • Calmly resolve passenger situations during flight, including medical emergencies
  • Answer questions regarding flight operations and provide destination information
