About this role

This role executes shuttle flights for the ship pilot service in Rotterdam and assists in offshore windfarm operations off the Belgian coast from Ostend. The Co-Pilot H145 plays a key part in ensuring safe and efficient flight operations under the supervision of the Base Manager and the pilot-in-command.

Day-to-day responsibilities include technical flight preparation such as route planning, fuel checks, and helicopter inspections. The co-pilot assists the pilot-in-command with administrative duties and follows instructions from the HHO for precise positioning during ship landings.

Requirements

  • EASA CPL(H) License
  • EASA Class 1 Medical
  • Valid EASA ME IR(H) rating
  • ATPL(H) theory
  • MCC certificate
  • Type rating preferably BK 117D2/3 (H145)
  • English Proficiency Level 4; Dutch speaking/understanding is a plus
  • Living in the Netherlands or Belgium, or willingness to relocate (not a commuting roster)

Responsibilities

  • Execute shuttle flights for the ship pilot service in Rotterdam and assist in operations in Ostend (mainly windfarms off the Belgian coast).
  • Assist the pilot-in-command in conducting an efficient flight, acting responsible under their decision and supervision.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant air legislation, agreed aviation practices, and local procedures.
  • Prepare flights technically: route planning, fuel check, and general inspection of the helicopter.
  • Support the pilot-in-command in maintaining crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
  • Follow instructions of the HHO for positioning the helicopter just above the landing spot on the ship.
  • Carry out flight duties in accordance with NHV's SOPs, limitations, and performance related to the H145 type.
  • Report any incidents or problems with the helicopter to the pilot-in-command at the end of the flight.
