About this role

National Jet Systems, part of the Qantas Group, seeks applications for A220 Aircraft Training Captains. Join the Entry Into Service for a First of Type in Country, with 2-year fixed term or permanent opportunities in Melbourne, Australia. Report to the Head of Training and Checking for performance of training duties in the aircraft.

Conduct Captain and First Officer training while maintaining comprehensive knowledge of NJS Operations Manual Suite and relevant regulatory documents. Make recommendations to the Head of Training and Checking for increasing fleet safety. Provide reports each bid period highlighting training issues and trends.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1000 hours PIC on A220 or similar generation 4 jet aircraft
  • Minimum 4000 hours total experience
  • Previous experience as a training or check captain on jet aircraft
  • Australian ATPL
  • Ability to pass a CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate
  • Level 6 English language qualification on licence
  • Working knowledge of international standard regulations and industry requirements
  • Demonstrate above proficient non-technical skills and understanding of human factors

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Captain and First Officer training in the aircraft
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of NJS Operations Manual Suite and relevant regulatory documents
  • Make recommendations to the Head of Training and Checking for increasing safety on the fleet
  • Provide a positive and caring training culture for all trainees
  • Demonstrate strong leadership displaying high standards consistent with Qantas Group values
  • Participate in Training Review Committee meetings as requested
  • Provide reports to the Head of Training and Checking highlighting training issues and trends
  • Facilitate ground training courses where applicable
