First Officers ensure safe and timely flight operations per Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. They lead Team Members and Guests, understanding excellence is a journey. Pilots handle thorough pre- and post-flight inspections for aircraft airworthiness.

Pilots plan flights using weather reports, Company policies, and FARs, becoming familiar with departure, arrival, and alternate weather. They assist with aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo handling when needed. All observe Rules of Conduct from the Team Member and Pilot Playbooks.

First Officers employ CRM with “Assertiveness with Respect” and assess risks to keep them acceptable. They maintain proficiency in operations, procedures, and systems. They develop technically for transition to PIC.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 23 years old at the time of hire
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings
  • Current ATP Written completed if an FAA ATP is not held
  • 1,500+ hours total time (not including simulator and/or Flight Engineer time)
  • Minimum of 500 hours through US FAR Part 121 or Military PIC on multiengine turbine powered fixed-wing airplane or powered-lift requiring more than one pilot

Responsibilities

  • Maintain thorough working knowledge of equipment operated, Federal Aviation Regulations, Company manuals, Operations Specifications, policies, and instructions
  • Plan the flight in accordance with applicable weather information, reports, Company policies, and FARs
  • Ensure qualified for the assigned flight including flight and duty time limitations, training, proficiency checks, medical certificate
  • Perform all duties the Captain may assign in flight
  • Assess risk and use proper resources to keep risk to an acceptable level during ground and flight operations
  • Employ the CRM concept of “Assertiveness with Respect”
  • Maintain high degree of proficiency and thorough knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and systems
  • Develop technically and professionally in preparation for transition to PIC
