About this role

Virus Australia Regional Airlines is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Training Captains to join the team. We're replacing the Fokker 100 fleet with new generation Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Perth based with a 28-day roster period and most nights at home base.

Training Captains will be responsible for carrying out line and ground training for Captains and First Officers. Train pilots to reach the standards defined by the Head of Training and Standards. Conduct training in an environment of continual improvement and safety awareness.

Requirements

  • Australian ATPL(A) licence
  • Australian Class 1 Medical
  • Experience as a Captain conducting aircraft training and/or checking activities in a Part 121 Air Transport Operation
  • Type rated on the Embraer E190-E1 or E190-E2
  • Total experience 3500 hours minimum
  • Command hours 2500 minimum (including 1500 multi-engine)
  • High standards of operational performance
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

Responsibilities

  • Carry out line and ground training for Captains and First Officers

  • Maintain safety awareness per VARA Training and Checking Manual
  • Perform aircraft training and checking activities
  • Support fleet transition to Embraer E190-E2
